In 2019, Chinese New Year will begin Tuesday, February 5th and continues through February 10th. Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival, is the longest public holiday of the year in China.
Chinese businesses will be closed for at least a week and some up to three weeks - which is also current
for factories and ports. Since the production of China is stagnant during the Chinese New Year shipping lines, airfreight companies and track operators will be cancelling departures.
To avoid delays and increased freight costs, please be aware to plan and book your shipments well ahead of time.
2019 is the year of the Pig. The Pig is the twelfth of all zodiac animals. The Pig is associated with the Earthly Branch, and the hours 9–11 in the night. In Chinese culture, pigs are the symbol of wealth – their chubby faces and big ears are signs of fortune.
