Following the devastating hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, we at Martin Bencher wanted to do our part to help the forgotten victims.
Hundreds of animals were left behind while their owners fled the approaching storms. Martin Bencher teamed up with Best Friends Animal Society to help raise money at the 2017 Break Bulk Americas Conference in Houston.
For over 30 years, Best Friends Animal Society has been running the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals and building effective programs that reduce the number of animals entering shelters. In Houston, they sheltered over 500 pets after Hurricane Harvey keeping them safe, clean and fed at the local convention center hall.
During the annual transportation industry conference, Breakbulk Americas, we had vendors, customers and colleagues dig deep in their pockets to donate for this amazing cause. At the two-day event, we collected $750 which was matched by Martin Bencher for a total of $1500. This money will go to pay for food, shelters, cleaning supplies and medication placement services.
Martin Bencher and Best Friends want to thank everyone that donated and participated for their support.
