Back in October 2018, Martin Bencher opened an office in Gothenburg, Sweden. The office is now well established, and to get to know one of Martin Bencher’s newly opened offices better, we have done an interview with our Branch Manager in Gothenburg, Jonas Peterson.
Jonas lives just close to the office – in Kungsbacka – in the western part of Sweden. He is 33 years old and lives with his girlfriend and two kids who are four and two years old. In his spare time, he likes to be active; running, playing handball and going to the gym.
Jonas comes with a lot of experience within heavy haulage, lifting and shipping – he has been working with everything from heavy duty trailers, jacking, skidding, heavy lift by mobile cranes and related services thereto.
What do you think about the challenge of this new job in Martin Bencher?
“I think it is a great challenge and my experience has really helped me in this new position. I think I can add a lot of knowledge and in combination with my other colleagues, I think it is a perfect match where our competencies are benefitting each other.
I think my first time here has been really good and I have got the chance to travel and visit clients with other Martin Bencher managers. Our office in Gothenburg is located at an office hotel and I am really enjoying working with competent and positive employees at Martin Bencher every day.
The challenge is really exciting, and I am looking forward to learning more about the shipping industry and what we can do in Martin Bencher”.
What will the Gothenburg office bring to Martin Bencher – both locally and globally?
“One of our strengths with this office is that we are close to one of the biggest ports in Scandinavia – this is definitely a benefit for clients and we can be close to our suppliers.
Also related to the question above, I think that my experience can bring another dimension to Martin Bencher where we can combine our strengths. I have a deeper understanding of the inland part – an extensive technical knowledge of heavy hauling and installation/rigging”.
What are the future plans for the office in Gothenburg?
“I hope we can expand in the long term – both our client portfolio and also with more staff at the office. The target is to make clients aware of this new location of our office and also make existing clients aware that we are here and what we can offer”.
