30.05.18 | NEW CUSTOMS REGULATIONS FOR SHIPMENTS IN CHINA

As of June 1, 2018, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) requires additional information for inbound and outbound cargo in China. The new adjustments are made to ensure better customs clearance and strengthen customs’ implementation of safe entry and risk prevention.

The adjustments include following main points:

  • Enforce advanced submission of manifest 24 hours prior to loading.
  • Requested data includes firm/corporate/company registration code* of shipper/consignee and notify party (when applicable).
  • The phone- or fax number for shipper, consignee and notify party (when applicable) will also be mandatory.
  • Manifest must reflect accurately and completely all goods under bill of lading.

* The registration code for consignee and notify party in China will be the “Unified Social Credit Code” with 18 digits. The registration code for the overseas shipper will vary from country to country.

The regulation is applicable to all import, export and transhipped cargo via any Chinese ports (except Hong Kong). The advance manifest data must be reflected accurately.
