In November 2015, Martin Bencher shipped a 85 tons spare cable reel for an offshore wind farm from Germany to Denmark.
The scope of work was to create a lashing plan, be in charge of the performance for lashing, securing, weight spreading and welding onboard the chartered vessel, as well as the transportation of the cable reel.
At arrival in Denmark, the cable reel had to be positioned behind a warehouse at the port. In order to have the cable reel positioned at its final point of rest the site was inspected several times in order to find the best way of handling the cargo due to narrow and limited working space. For positioning the cable reel a hydraulic lowbed trailer was used together with a 500 tons mobile crane.
The job was performed as planned without any delays or damages to the cargo.
